Sama Shahrouri

Sama Shahrouri

Sama Shahrouri is a Amman-based multidisciplinary artist whose work is predominantly focused on sculpture making. In her work Shahrouri experiments with contrasts in themes and materials. She is inspired by the notion of physical space and experiments with the different mannerism in which an object can occupy or influence a single spot. Human engagement is a vital element in Shahrouri’s work, where the audience is invited to interact with the space surrounding or being occupied by the work. In her artwork, Shahrouri examines figurative drawing, sketching and sculpture. Since 2016, she has conducted local and regional sculpture workshops and has participated in multiple group exhibitions and art programmes with multimedium works including drawings on paper, installations and video art. In 2018, she co-founded an online magazine called artmejournal with artmejo where she holds the position of Editor-in-Chief and works to elevate Arab art on the international artistic map.

Salma Nassar

Salma Nassar

Salma Nassar is a young Egyptian artist and architect raised in the Emirates. She was inspired by the connection she found between her architectural studies and dance forms. Salma has been experimenting with creative collages that merge photographs of architecture and dancers from the public domain. This has since evolved to include images from nature. She likes to keep things simple but significant. Salma believes collage says what she cannot properly express otherwise. Salma is looking forward to breaking the boundaries of exhibition spaces with collages that break the frame and include human interaction.
